VOLUNTEER

Volunteer and help support Constitution Island!

Volunteers have been the backbone of our work since the beginning of the Constitution Island Association. Each year, over 70 local residents come together to lead tours, help with the island's gardens, and volunteer at our signature Summer events. This ongoing work continues to ensure the preservation of Constitution Island and all the treasured history within the Warner House.

Docents

Constitution Island is always looking for new docents to explain the history of the island, and the significance of the Warner House. Docents are needed throughout the summer months and during our signature events.

Island Tour Guides

Volunteers interested in hosting tours receive training in how to guide visitors through the island's featured locations, such as the Warner House and the great chain. They will also learn to take visitors on a short walk from the house to see the ruins of the Revolutionary War forts. Tours to the Island are offered Wednesday and Thursdays from May to September.

People interested in volunteering are asked to attend a 90 minute orientation. These can be arranged at the convenience of the volunteer. Orientations are held at the Desmond-Fish Library in Garrison, NY and at Building 2104 at West Point Visitors Center on Main Street in Highland Falls, NY. For a reservation or more information, call Drea Kaplon at (845) 265-2501, or e-mail ciaatwp@gmail.com
