REENACTMENT DAY

Experience living history on Constitution Island!

Each year, the Constitution Island Association and the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area honor West Point’s Constitution Island's role in the American Revolution and the Civil War by hosting Reenactment Day -- a family friendly event showcasing the lifestyles of the people who lived and fought during these pivotal periods in American history.  Re-enactors from both wars perform tactical weapon demonstrations, inspections & formations, musket firings, artillery demonstrations, camp life recreations and military drills. West Point cadets from the Black Knights Drill Team perform tandem team performances, and members of the West Point Band play period-based military music. Attendees can also enjoy the tall tales of Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk, play provided games, and can enjoy a full complement of refreshments and drinks, or a packed picnic lunch on the historic Revolutionary Parade Field.

The event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
